Michael A. Boyd is a Field Representative with the United States Census Bureau. He is responsible for collecting data across Bell County, TX. Michael primarily collects Census data for the American Community Survey which includes housing units and group quarters. He is also trained on behalf of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to collect data for the Nation Health Interview Survey, National Ambulatory Medical Care Survey & National Hospital Ambulatory Medical Care Survey. Other surveys Michael has worked include the American Housing Survey, National Crime Victimization Survey and the Fish Hunt & Wildlife Survey.

Michael was born on New Year’s Day in Germany to an Army veteran father and entrepreneur mother. He has the distinction of being a twin. A product of private, public and home-school education, he attended numerous youth ministry and outreach programs growing up. In 2003, Michael graduated from C.E. Ellison High School. He went on to complete business courses at Central Texas College in Killeen, TX. 

In the fall of 2004, he and his brother organized a youth program to reach at-risk youth in America. After much consideration, Michael and his brother David founded a non-profit organization named The Enlightenment Tour with the mission of engaging youth in local missionary work. For the next 6 years this non-profit went on to be recognized on a larger scale than imagined. Along with his brother, Michael’s work was hosted on 3ABN television & radio, highlighted in Southwestern Record magazine, on the cover of Insight magazine in addition to the Killeen Daily Herald front page. 


Michael went on to become a licensed Texas electrician with M.C. DEAN, a premier defense contractor, having completed 4 years of commercial work on the Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center replacement at Fort Cavazos, Texas. Over time, he traveled to perform electrical work on an Exxon Fuel Station (North Austin), University House Apartments (Downtown Austin), Domain 11 Tower, and Thrall High School (Thrall, TX). Michael also worked in the Killeen area on projects to include A/C replacement projects for KISD Early College High School (Fort Cavazos, Tx) and Liberty Hill Middle School and the Barracks Renovations program on Fort Cavazos. He is experienced with fiber-optic surveying and HVAC controls. 

One of Michael’s accomplishments was serving as President of the North Central Texas Youth Federation. From 2015-2017, he led the organization in an initiative entitled "Serving Those Who Serve 2" which served as a community service impact project for the Killeen/Fort Hood community. During July 21-24, 2016, over 200 youth & young adults arrived from Dallas/Fort Worth to participate and give back. The young people departed daily on buses to carry-out service projects differing from a health fairs to food drives. He humbly received much recognition for his volunteer work over the years. ?

Most recently, Michael was elected to the Killeen City Council where he represents 40,000+ citizens across west Killeen. He currently serves on numerous boards effecting positive change. Notably, Michael ran unopposed in the most recent election. Michael is a strong believer in productivity and diversification as he also holds a Texas real estate license in addition to his FAA Small-UAS pilot's certificate. 

Michael is married to Valerie Boyd of Houston, TX. He is a member of the local Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Killeen, TX where he currently serves as Building Committee member. Michael enjoys spending time with family, traveling and his golden-doodle Essie.
